Police Investigate 'Democrats' Activist for Inciting Violence Against Knesset Speaker Ohana

Police in Tel Aviv have opened a criminal investigation into a 27-year-old activist from the "Democrats" party suspected of inciting violence against Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana. The investigation was launched after Ohana shared a post on social media that allegedly contained severe incitement. Reports indicate the post included a harsh statement suggesting that "all 64 [MKs] should be death-worthy for all intents and purposes." The suspect, a resident of Tel Aviv, was summoned for questioning under caution and subsequently released under restrictive conditions. Police emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and currently based on suspicion.

The development follows a public outcry the previous day concerning signs and stickers placed along the route from Ohana's home to his children's elementary school. Ohana stated that the placement and height of these signs suggested they were intentionally positioned to be seen by his minor children and their classmates, a situation that caused him significant distress and shock. The Knesset Speaker had shared an incident involving his son on the first day of school, which apparently preceded the online post under investigation.
