Democrats Party Activists Attacked at Tel Aviv’s Tikva Market, Two Arrested

Activists from the Democrats party were physically and verbally attacked on July 3 at the Tikva Market in Tel Aviv. Police from the Tel Aviv station arrested two suspects suspected of involvement in the assault. According to police, a group gathered around the activists’ booth, and some individuals assaulted them.

Knesset member Gilad Kariv condemned the attack, stating, "Raised hands belong to violent gangs. Their voice is that of Netanyahu and his poison machine inciting against us daily." He emphasized, "We are not afraid of them; they fear us and our messages. We will continue to visit Tikva Market and other places across the country to speak openly because these thugs do not represent the broader Israeli public."

Knesset member Naama Lazimi expressed shock over the violent attack, attributing it to the extreme incitement from the outgoing government and its propaganda channels, which she said permeate the streets. She warned that this is a preview of what the government plans for the upcoming elections. Lazimi criticized the political police and the "Kahanist" Shin Bet chief, saying Israeli citizens have no security under such conditions. She vowed that the Democrats party will not back down, will ensure all attackers face justice, and will work to remove the current government, aiming to lead a responsible change government soon.
