Two Arrested After Attack on Democratic Party Activists in South Tel Aviv
On Friday, police from the Tel Aviv South station arrested two suspects suspected of attacking activists from the Democratic Party, led by Yair Golan. The activists had set up a booth on Etzel Street near the Hatikva Market in south Tel Aviv when a confrontation broke out. According to police reports, a group of people gathered around the activists and allegedly assaulted them both physically and verbally.
Video footage obtained by Walla shows several civilians confronting the activists, shouting "Get out of here." The activists were attempting to engage openly and honestly with locals, including those who might disagree with them. Chen Arieli, one of the activists, condemned the violence and attributed it to the divisive policies of Prime Minister Netanyahu, accusing his government of sowing hatred among the public.
The two suspects were taken into custody and are currently under investigation. Police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine further details and potential motives.
