Maccabi Netanya Pursues South African Winger and Miami Midfielder

Israeli soccer club Maccabi Netanya has submitted a transfer offer for South African winger Luther Singh, currently playing for AEK Limassol in Cyprus. Singh, 29, has represented the South African national team 13 times, scoring three goals. He primarily plays on the left wing but can also operate on the right. His market value is estimated at €850,000, and he has scored 11 goals and provided 22 assists in 65 appearances for Limassol since joining in 2024. Singh previously played in Europe for clubs including Copenhagen.

In parallel, Maccabi Netanya has also approached Honduran midfielder David Ruiz, 22, who plays alongside Lionel Messi at Inter Miami in MLS. Ruiz, contracted until 2028, is not a regular starter but has three years of MLS experience, playing with other Barcelona alumni like Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suárez.

The club is also still working to finalize the loan of Brazilian defender Sydney Lima from Portuguese side Santa Clara. Max De Giglio, a partner of Ross Klastin, is leading negotiations, which have so far been unsuccessful. Netanya is reportedly resistant to a purchase option of around $500,000, despite the player potentially arriving on a free loan. Partizan Belgrade has also expressed interest in Lima.

Meanwhile, Maccabi Netanya is looking to move on William Cyprien, who has reportedly rejected an offer to terminate his contract early in exchange for three months' salary. His agent claims he has an offer from France. Cyprien is not considered part of the club's future plans. The team will play their next match against Hapoel Haifa without defender Asam Zaroura, who is out for about ten days with a groin tear.
