Maccabi Netanya Eyes Striker Guy Melamed Amid Transfer Speculation
Maccabi Netanya is reportedly interested in re-signing striker Guy Melamed from Maccabi Haifa. Melamed, who previously played for Netanya and starred for Hapoel Haifa under coach Roni Levy, is currently third in Maccabi Haifa's forward hierarchy behind Andrija Novakovich and Lior Rafaelov. He will not be in Maccabi Haifa's squad for their upcoming match against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Despite satisfaction with current forwards Matias Dabo and Dor Hugi, Netanya believes a long season requires multiple attacking options. The club is also in negotiations with Portuguese side Santa Clara for defender Sydney Lima, who has reportedly agreed to personal terms. It remains unclear if Lima's potential arrival would impact Bakary Koné's status.
Meanwhile, right-back Alon Azugi, acquired this summer from Bnei Sakhnin, is nearing a return after recovering from a shoulder injury. He has resumed training and may be included in the squad for the upcoming game against Hapoel Haifa.
