Vizhnitz Hasidim Urged to Pray for the Rebbe’s Recovery

A wave of concern has spread in the Vizhnitz Hasidic community after the Vizhnitz Rebbe was struck by severe weakness in recent days. On Tuesday, the movement called on tens of thousands of followers to pray and plead for his complete recovery.

The rebbe is currently staying for rest at his usual vacation residence in Moshav Ora, near Jerusalem. The appeal asked the public to increase prayers and supplications for Rabbi Yisrael ben Leah Esther, “within the other sick of Israel.”

At the same time, hundreds of students from the Vizhnitz yeshiva in Bnei Brak are set to hold a special communal prayer service Tuesday evening in Tiberias. The service will take place at the grave of Rabbi Nachman of Horodenka in the ancient cemetery, on the anniversary of his passing.

The students are expected to pray that the rebbe regain full health and continue leading his community for many more years in peace and good health.
