Thousands Gather at Western Wall for Prayer Rally for Vizhnitz Rebbe's Recovery

On Thursday evening, tens of thousands of Vizhnitz Hasidim convened at the Western Wall plaza in an unprecedented prayer rally for the full recovery of the Vizhnitz Rebbe, who has been seriously ill for nearly two years. The event was initiated by the Rebbe's three sons: Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager, Rabbi Yitzchak Yeshaya Hager, and Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Hager, who called on all followers to unite in prayer ahead of the High Holy Days. They were joined by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager, the Rebbe's son-in-law and a prominent teacher at the Vizhnitz yeshiva in Elad.

In a special audio message, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager explained that the rally was not prompted by any new crisis but was a proactive plea for divine mercy to restore the Rebbe’s health and leadership. The gathering featured inspiring speeches, including one by Rabbi Yisrael Miller, the community's spiritual guide, who emphasized the Rebbe's role in spreading the name of God and urged the crowd to intensify their prayers.

The event included heartfelt recitations of Psalms and prayers led by prominent family members and rabbis, such as Rabbi Yisrael Ernster, the Rebbe’s grandson, and Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Hager, who chanted with emotional intensity. The rally concluded with Rabbi Yitzchak Moshe Erlanger leading a powerful call-and-response of "Shema Yisrael" and affirmations of faith, stirring the crowd at the holy site.

Transportation to the event was extensive, with over 100 buses and hundreds of private vehicles bringing worshippers from across Israel. The Vizhnitz community described the rally as one of the largest and most spontaneous in its history, reflecting deep communal solidarity and spiritual awakening for their leader’s health.
