Thousands Gather at Western Wall for Prayer Rally for Vizhnitz Rebbe's Recovery

On Friday night, thousands of Vizhnitz Hasidim assembled at the Western Wall in Jerusalem for a massive prayer rally seeking the full recovery of the Vizhnitz Rebbe, Rabbi Israel ben Leah Esther, who is seriously ill. The event was organized following a special and urgent call from the Rebbe's three sons: Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager, Rabbi Yitzchak Yeshaya Hager, and Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Hager, along with their brother-in-law Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager, a senior lecturer at the Vizhnitz yeshiva in Elad.

In a voice message broadcast on the Vizhnitz community's internal network, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager explained that the gathering was not prompted by a new crisis but was a proactive plea for divine mercy to restore the Rebbe's health and leadership. The event featured words of encouragement from Rabbi Israel Miller, the community's spiritual leader, who emphasized the importance of prayer for the Rebbe's continued guidance.

The prayer session included the recitation of Psalms and traditional High Holiday melodies, led by prominent figures such as Rabbi Israel Ernster, the Rebbe's grandson, and Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Hager, who chanted with deep emotion. The gathering culminated with Rabbi Yitzchak Moshe Erlanger leading a powerful call-and-response declaration of faith, which resonated throughout the plaza.

The rally lasted several hours and drew participants from across Israel, transported by over 100 buses and numerous private vehicles. The Vizhnitz community described the event as one of the largest and most spontaneous prayer assemblies in its history, demonstrating the deep devotion and unity of its followers during this critical time.
