Vizhnitz Rebbe's Sons Urge Mass Prayer for Father's Recovery

The three sons of the Vizhnitz Rebbe have issued an unprecedented call to tens of thousands of their followers for a day of widespread prayer and study, urging them to recite the entire Book of Psalms and engage in continuous Torah study for their father's swift recovery. The Rebbe has been experiencing a serious medical condition, causing concern among his followers worldwide.

The call comes from Rabbis Chaim Meir Hager, Yitzchak Yisroel Hager, and Yaakov Mordechai Hager, who are leading the Hasidic community in prayer. They have designated the upcoming Sunday, during the Selichot (penitential prayers) period, as a "day of great prayer and awakening." During this day, Hasidim in every city are expected to gather for communal recitation of Psalms and a two-hour continuous Torah study session.

Despite the grave health concerns, the Vizhnitz community is also preparing for the High Holy Days with great anticipation. The Rebbe is scheduled to appear at the main synagogue in Bnei Brak on Saturday night at 11:30 PM for the first Selichot service. He is currently receiving the public in Moshav Ora, with thousands of Hasidim expected to visit from around the globe for Rosh Hashanah and the subsequent holidays in September to seek his blessing.

The community is imploring the public to continue praying for the complete and speedy recovery of the Rebbe, Rabbi Yisrael ben Leah Esther, along with all the sick among Israel.
