The popular kebab restaurant 'Shipudei Zika,' a long-standing culinary landmark in Old Jaffa, officially closed its doors on August 31st after nearly a quarter-century of operation. The owners announced the closure via social media, citing a combination of factors that led to the difficult decision.

According to reports, the restaurant's financial performance had significantly deteriorated recently, with declining revenues pushing the business towards unprofitability amid a broader economic downturn. The owners also cited decades of demanding, 24/7 work leading to emotional burnout. 'Shipudei Zika' began 25 years ago as a small eatery with only two tables across the street from its final location.
