Maccabi Jaffa Pursues Goalkeeper Tal Bomstein for Comeback

Maccabi Jaffa has officially approached goalkeeper Tal Bomstein, who recently retired from professional football, regarding a potential return to the sport. Bomstein, considered one of the top goalkeepers in the National League last season, is reportedly considering the offer.

The club's interest comes after they decided to part ways with goalkeeper Arik Yanko due to dissatisfaction with his performance. Young goalkeeper Harel Attia is currently filling in, having impressed in the Toto Cup. However, the team is also considering other options, including Bomstein and Roy Berens, a former Jaffa player now with Hapoel Tel Aviv, with whom Jaffa has a cooperation agreement.

Bomstein had announced his retirement from football just weeks before the season's start, citing personal reasons. He had a standout season with Maccabi Herzliya last year. However, following overtures from Maccabi Jaffa and a positive relationship with coach Itzik Baruch and chairman Eran Cohen, Bomstein is now seriously contemplating a comeback to the National League this season.
