Amir Banai Surprised by "Dancing with the Stars" Success

Actor Amir Banai, son of comedian Orna Banai, has emerged as a breakout star and strong contender in the current season of "Dancing with the Stars." Ahead of the season finale, airing Wednesday on Keshet 12, Banai and his dance partner, Romi Nof, reflected on their unexpected journey.

Banai admitted he never anticipated such a level of success. "I didn't think this is what was going to happen, in any way. I hoped it would be good, but what happened is a crazy explosion, and it's life-changing. I had more fun than I thought I would. I didn't know I had these abilities," he stated.

Nof expressed no disappointment when paired with Banai, who was less known at the time. "After our first rehearsal, I saw what kind of person he is. I saw I had someone to work with, and that's what's most important in this show, more than anything," she said.

The pair revealed they didn't feel confident about reaching the finale until the semi-finals, having faced elimination at one point. "We weren't sure we were even going to the final. We were in an elimination situation," Nof recalled.
