Maccabi Jaffa Parts Ways With Goalkeeper Arik Yanko After Three Matches
Veteran goalkeeper Arik Yanko is reportedly on his way out of Israeli second-division club Maccabi Jaffa, just three matches into his tenure. Yanko joined the team this summer with the aim of improving their defensive record and helping them achieve a higher league finish. However, the team has lost all three of its opening games, conceding nine goals.
Maccabi Jaffa and Yanko have reached an agreement for an early departure. The club's chairman, Eran Cohen, was informed by Yanko's lawyer, Amir Cohen, that the goalkeeper's time with the team is over. Yanko is expected to file a compensation claim against the club.
Yanko had a strong season with Hapoel Rishon LeZion last year before signing with Maccabi Jaffa, a Tel Aviv-based team, in the current offseason.
