The Shin Bet clarified on Saturday that a significant threat against Yair Netanyahu, son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in Miami led to an urgent decision to evacuate him and his security team back to Israel. This statement was issued following reports earlier in the week where Israeli security sources denied knowledge of a last-minute foiled attack in Miami targeting Yair Netanyahu. According to the Shin Bet, while the Iranian operatives allegedly planning the attack were not in immediate proximity to Yair Netanyahu, they were close enough to justify the emergency extraction.

In addition to Yair Netanyahu and his security detail, several bodyguards from Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s delegation, who happened to be visiting the United States at the time, were also mobilized to assist in the Miami operation.
