Yair Netanyahu Evacuated from Miami Amid Iranian Assassination Threat, Security Officials Criticize Media Exposure

New details have emerged regarding an assassination attempt on Yair Netanyahu, son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following intelligence about a threat from Iran. Due to the severity of the threat, Yair Netanyahu's security team urgently ordered him to evacuate Miami, instructing him to pack only a small bag and leave behind personal belongings, including his dog, which was cared for by acquaintances during his absence.

The evacuation took place swiftly, with Yair flown to another U.S. destination. He was only able to briefly return to his Miami residence weeks later, during a visit by Prime Minister Netanyahu to former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, to collect his belongings under heavy security.

Israeli security officials expressed outrage at Israeli media outlets, particularly Channel 12 and journalist Uri Misgav of Haaretz, for publicly revealing Yair Netanyahu's exact address and security details. Retired Colonel Ronen Cohen, chairman of the advisory committee on personal security, condemned the disclosures as "reckless conduct" that provided a "gold mine" of intelligence to potential assassins. Cohen emphasized the explicit and real threat against the Prime Minister and his family.

In response, Yair Netanyahu filed a criminal complaint with the Israeli police and the Shin Bet security service against Uri Misgav, accusing him of endangering their lives by obsessively publishing detailed information about the Netanyahu family's movements and locations, alongside false allegations against them.
