Former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and his wife, Dafna Bar-Agassi, attended a special security conference in the United Arab Emirates hosted by Emirati Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed. The gathering included senior figures from security, intelligence, and decision-making bodies from multiple countries.
According to a report by journalist Michael Shemesh on Channel 13 on Sunday night, while Bar was in the UAE, authorities received an unusual security warning that raised concern for his safety. In response, the couple was immediately removed from the country and flown back to Israel.
The circumstances of the alert and the evacuation were kept under strict secrecy and had not been disclosed until now. Bar declined to comment on the report.
