Heatwave Intensifies With High Humidity and Red Heat Alert in Northern Israel

Today, Friday, the weather in Israel will be partly cloudy to clear with a slight temperature drop mainly in the mountains and inland areas. Despite this, moderate to heavy heat stress will persist across most regions. Along the coastal plain, the weather will remain humid with relative humidity around 60% to 65% during midday. Winds in the Mediterranean will blow from the northwest. A red heat alert has been issued for the Beit She'an Valley, Jordan Valley, Kinneret Basin and surroundings, northern Dead Sea, southern Judean Desert, and the Arava region due to a dangerous combination of high temperatures and humidity creating extreme heat conditions.

Tomorrow's forecast indicates little change, with continued hot and humid weather along the coastal plain and hotter than usual conditions in the mountains and inland. Heavy heat stress will remain in the valleys, Negev, and areas around the Kinneret and Arava. Expected temperatures include Jerusalem at 21-31°C, Tel Aviv-Yafo 25-31°C, Haifa 24-31°C, Kiryat Shmona 21-37°C, Safed 21-32°C, Tiberias 24-37°C, Ashdod 23-31°C, Beersheba 22-35°C, Mitzpe Ramon 23-35°C, and Eilat 30-42°C.
