Ofer Winter's New Party Surges Past Threshold, Shakes Right-Wing Bloc in Latest Poll

Just three days after launching his new party "Amcha Yisrael," retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter has made a significant leap in a Channel 14 poll, crossing the electoral threshold and securing four Knesset seats. This marks a notable rise from the previous poll, conducted immediately after Winter's political entry announcement, where his party garnered only 2.1% and failed to pass the threshold.

Winter's entry into the Knesset has caused a redistribution of mandates among right-wing parties. The Likud, Yisrael Beiteinu, Otzma Yehudit, Yahadut HaTorah, Yisrael Yisrael, and Religious Zionism each lose one seat. Meanwhile, the Joint List, comprising Hadash, Ta'al, and Balad, gains two seats, rising to seven mandates.

The full poll results show Likud remaining the largest party with 31 seats, followed by Yisrael Beiteinu with 23, Shas with 10, and The Democrats with 9. Yahadut HaTorah, Otzma Yehudit, and the Joint List each hold seven seats. Ra'am has five, while Religious Zionism and Winter's Amcha Yisrael each have four. Several parties, including Zehut led by Moshe Feiglin, Blue and White, and others, fall below the threshold.

In terms of political blocs, the right-wing bloc, including Winter's party which has pledged to recommend Netanyahu as prime minister, holds a majority with 63 seats. The left-wing bloc stands at 45 seats, and Arab parties collectively have 12.

Regarding the preferred candidate for prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu leads with 53%, followed by Gadi Eizenkot at 33%, Naftali Bennett at 8%, and Avigdor Lieberman at 6%. In a direct comparison between Netanyahu and Eizenkot, Netanyahu maintains an advantage with 56% support versus 44% for Eizenkot.

The poll was conducted by NEXT DATA on August 27, 2026, surveying 981 adults across Israel.
