IDF Chief Orders Increased Readiness in West Bank Ahead of Holidays

IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir has ordered the deployment of an additional regular brigade command in the West Bank amid rising tensions and the upcoming holiday season. During a recent situation assessment, Zamir emphasized that the Israeli military remains on high alert against multi-front threats originating from Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza. He stated, "The IDF is in a high state of readiness facing multi-theater volatility from Iran, Lebanon to Gaza. There is no silence and no reduction in operational capabilities during the holiday period." Zamir also addressed budgetary challenges, noting that despite the heightened tensions across all fronts, the military must contend with an empty treasury, which he warned could undermine the IDF's preparedness.
