Four Dead in Separate Israeli Road Accidents Over Weekend

A 45-year-old man was killed in a road accident on Saturday evening on Highway 5535 near the community of Porat in the Lev HaSharon Regional Council. MDA paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene after he sustained severe, multi-system injuries.

The incident follows a weekend marked by multiple fatal traffic accidents across Israel. On Saturday, a 48-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident at the Sorek Interchange on Highway 7 near Gedera. Earlier, a motorcyclist in his 30s was killed on Highway 1 near the HaSamarani Interchange, close to Ma'ale Adumim, after being found with severe injuries far from his motorcycle.

On Wednesday, two men in their 30s and 40s were killed in a collision between two private vehicles on Highway 675 in the Jezreel Valley, near the Gid'ona Interchange. Firefighters extricated them from the wreckage, and MDA paramedics pronounced them dead at the scene. Two others, a man in his 30s and a 37-year-old woman, were seriously injured and evacuated to HaEmek Hospital in Afula.

Earlier on Wednesday, an elderly pedestrian in her 80s was struck and killed in northern Tel Aviv. The driver, reportedly in his 80s, was arrested on suspicion of involvement and fleeing the scene. Traffic accident investigators are examining the circumstances of these incidents, which have raised concerns about road safety.
