Motorcyclist Dies in Road Accident Near Gadera; String of Fatal Crashes Reported

A 48-year-old motorcyclist, a resident of Moshav Sde Moshe in the Lachish region, was killed early Friday morning in a traffic accident at the Sorek interchange on Highway 7, near Gadera. Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical teams pronounced him dead at the scene. Traffic investigators from the Central District of the Israel Police have launched an investigation into the crash.

This incident follows a series of fatal road accidents in Israel. On Thursday night, a motorcyclist in his 30s died in a crash on Highway 1 near the HaShomroni interchange, close to Ma'ale Adumim. Earlier, on Thursday, two men in their 30s and 40s were killed in a collision between two private vehicles on Highway 675 in the Gilboa region. Firefighters extricated them from the wreckage, and MDA paramedics pronounced them dead. Two others, a man in his 30s and a 37-year-old woman, were seriously injured and evacuated to HaEmek Medical Center in Afula.

Earlier on Thursday, an elderly pedestrian in her 80s was struck and killed in northern Tel Aviv. The driver, reportedly in his 80s, was arrested on suspicion of involvement and fleeing the scene. Police traffic accident investigators arrived at the scene on Bnei Ephraim Street and opened an investigation. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in serious condition, where she later died. The suspect was apprehended shortly after.
