Pregnant Palestinian Woman Arrested with Knife Near West Bank Settlement for Planned Stabbing Attack

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers, guided by the Shin Bet security service, arrested a 38-year-old pregnant Palestinian woman at the Ganot Junction near Homesh in the Shomron (Samaria) region. The arrest occurred after intelligence indicated her intent to carry out a stabbing attack. The woman was found armed with a knife and taken for further investigation by security forces. No injuries were reported in the incident. The location is notable for a previous attack in October 2022, where Staff Sergeant Ido Baruch was killed in a shooting.

Earlier the same day, another security incident took place in the Shomron area when assailants threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli vehicle on Route 55. The incendiary device shattered and ignited on the road, but the vehicle was unharmed and continued driving. No casualties occurred. IDF forces responding to the event discovered two additional Molotov cocktails nearby.

Following these attacks, Israeli forces entered nearby Palestinian villages to conduct searches and sweeps. Engineering units also cleared areas adjacent to the road to prevent militants from hiding close to the highway. These security measures aim to reduce the risk of further attacks in the region.
