On August 25, 2026, Sabah completed a remarkable 5-2 comeback victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva, securing a historic qualification to the Champions League. The Azerbaijani team overturned a 1-2 deficit in the second leg, with the aggregate tied 3-3 leading to extra time. In the 89th minute, Jibril Diop, who had replaced Vitor, received his first yellow card for a reckless time-wasting foul when he kicked the ball far out of play. Shortly after, in the 100th minute, Diop was shown a second yellow card following a disputed foul, reducing Hapoel Be'er Sheva to ten men. One minute later, Sabah scored the decisive goal through Ambina, completing the dramatic turnaround. Diop's second yellow was controversial as he claimed the foul never occurred, but his earlier caution for time-wasting proved costly for the reigning champions coached by Ran Kozuch.
