On the first yahrzeit (anniversary of death) of Yosef Yehoshua Friedman, a 17-year-old student from the Nitra Yeshiva in Monsey, his family and community commemorate his untimely passing. Yosef Yehoshua, son of prominent U.S. producer Rabbi Eliezer (Eli) Friedman, died after suffering severe electrocution injuries in a mikveh accident during a summer camp in the Catskill Mountains. Despite two weeks of fighting for his life and widespread prayers for his recovery, he passed away, leaving family and friends heartbroken.

Yosef Yehoshua had a special connection to Shabbat songs, often singing beloved melodies to bring joy and spiritual elevation to the Shabbat table. To honor his memory, a new recording of one of his favorite songs, "Menucha V'Simcha" (Rest and Joy), has been released. The song is based on an original melody by Naftali Kampa and features a deeply emotional performance by his father, Rabbi Eliezer Friedman, alongside singer Meilech Braunstein.

This heartfelt tribute is intended to continue bringing happiness and inspiration to Shabbat gatherings, reflecting Yosef Yehoshua's passion. The community is encouraged to perform acts of kindness in his merit. The production credits include musical arrangement by Moshe Yaakov, mixing by Shlomo Vechter, video by Ari Levi, and marketing by Sol Bloom.
