The story · English

Miki Peled, a foundational figure in Israel's entertainment industry and the producer behind the iconic Festigal, passed away at the age of 87. Born in Romania in 1939, Peled immigrated to Israel with his family in 1948. From a young age, he demonstrated a passion for the stage and a keen ability to understand Israeli audiences.

In 1981, Peled initiated and produced the first Festigal, a show that quickly became a beloved cultural tradition in Israel, integral to the lives of generations of children and families. Beyond Festigal, he contributed to numerous cultural events and productions, collaborating with leading Israeli artists and playing a central role in the development of the local entertainment sector.

Peled's lifelong contributions earned him a lifetime achievement award from ACUM. He was remembered not only as a successful producer but as a generous, optimistic mentor who believed in people and helped them realize their potential. His family includes his wife Tami, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, alongside many artists and professionals influenced by his work.

His son and business partner, Yaron Peled, described him as more than a producer: "He was a man who knew how to dream, recognize talent, give opportunities, and most importantly, make people believe in themselves." Miki Peled's funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, at 16:00 at the Kiryat Shaul Cemetery.
