Bnei Sakhnin will begin their Israeli Premier League season on Monday with an away match against Maccabi Netanya, aiming to improve on their Toto Cup performances. The team, coached by Yossi Abukasis, faces several uncertainties in their squad as some new signings are not yet match-fit. Romanian striker Daniel Preskiv, a recent addition, remains unfit to play in the opening game, while Ilai Hajaj, who joined last week, is included in the squad and available for selection.

The club is notably disappointed with the performance of Norberto Carlos, their first summer signing and an Angolan midfielder. Besides underwhelming displays, Carlos is currently injured and will miss the upcoming match. The club must decide his future, although there is currently no option to bring in additional foreign players.

Ahead of the match, coach Yossi Abukasis expressed excitement about the season's start and the gradual integration of new players, emphasizing the desire to field a strong squad. He acknowledged the difficulty of the away fixture against Netanya but stressed their intent to win. Defender Dmitri Kabra also shared optimism, highlighting the team's confidence after a recent victory and the importance of starting the league well for a successful season.
