Turkey Issues International Arrest Warrant for Israeli PM Netanyahu Over Alleged Genocide

Turkey has escalated its legal confrontation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by issuing an international arrest warrant accusing him of genocide. The Turkish Justice Minister, Akın Gürlek, announced that a formal request has been submitted to the Interior Ministry to transfer the necessary documents to the Foreign Ministry for the warrant's publication. This action is part of a broader legal case involving 35 individuals, for whom arrest warrants were already issued in July. The allegations against Netanyahu and others include genocide, crimes against humanity, aggravated deprivation of liberty, intentional assault and torture, property damage and robbery, and hijacking of vehicles. These charges relate to activities surrounding a humanitarian flotilla to Gaza in international waters. The Turkish Justice Ministry emphasized its rejection of Israel's claim of immunity for its leadership and stated it will use all national and international legal means to ensure accountability for the accused acts.
