The FBI's 2025 hate crime statistics reveal a sustained and unusually high level of anti-Semitic attacks in the United States. Although Jews make up only about 2% of the US population, they were targeted in nearly 63% of all reported religiously motivated hate crimes last year. In some states, Jewish individuals were victims of up to 90% of religious hate crimes. The year 2025 marked the third highest annual total of anti-Jewish hate crimes since tracking began, following record peaks in 2023 and 2024.

According to an analysis by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of FBI data, there were 1,528 anti-Semitic hate crime incidents reported nationwide in 2025, accounting for 63% of the 2,408 religious hate crimes and 14% of all hate crimes reported. While this represents a 21.2% decrease from the 1,938 incidents recorded in 2024, the overall level remains historically high. Total hate crimes in the US dropped from 11,679 in 2024 to 10,881 in 2025.

Violence against Jews included 162 documented physical assaults, with 50 classified as severe, three murders or non-negligent manslaughters motivated by anti-Semitism, and 505 cases of threats or intimidation. Property damage and vandalism accounted for 920 of the 1,685 anti-Jewish offenses recorded. The ADL independently documented 6,274 anti-Semitic incidents in 2025, including non-criminal events, marking a 33% decline from 2024 but still the third highest annual total since 1979.

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt emphasized that behind each statistic is a person targeted solely for being Jewish. He noted that despite the decline in numbers, anti-Semitism remains one of the most persistent and dangerous forms of hate in the US and globally. Greenblatt also highlighted that 2025 was the deadliest year for Jews worldwide in over three decades, with 20 people killed in anti-Semitic attacks.
