Israeli Police Arrest Suspect Digging Tunnel Near Kalandiya Separation Barrier

Israeli police arrested a 36-year-old resident of Kalandiya who was staying in Israel without authorization after he was caught digging a tunnel near the separation barrier in the Kalandiya area. Observation teams from the Atarot command center spotted several suspects during the digging, prompting security forces to respond. The suspects attempted to flee, leading to a foot chase during which warning shots were fired into the air. The arrested individual guided the officers to the tunnel and stated during interrogation that he intended to dig the tunnel to infiltrate Israeli territory.
