Manor Solomon, the Israeli national team star, made a strong debut for West Ham United in their Championship opener against Burnley on Sunday. Having signed with West Ham just last week after transferring from rival Tottenham, Solomon was handed the number 11 shirt and delivered an impressive performance. He scored in the 72nd minute, giving West Ham the lead, but the team conceded late goals, resulting in a dramatic 2-2 draw.
Sky Sports praised Solomon's goal and overall display, highlighting his skill and control in tight spaces. Channel commentator Andy Hinchcliffe noted during the first half that Solomon looked sharp and exceptional with the ball. West Ham fans quickly took to their new star, reviving a chant previously heard at Leeds United matches: "Manor Solomon's on my mind and he hates Palestine."
Solomon earned the highest player rating on the Flashscore website with a 7.6, well above the next best West Ham player who scored 6.9. Sofascore also gave him a top rating, underscoring his standout debut despite the team's dropped points. The match marked a promising start for Solomon at his new club, though West Ham will look to convert such performances into wins moving forward.
