Israeli Foreign Ministry Accuses Iran of Backing Hezbollah Attacks on Civilians

Israel’s Foreign Ministry responded to remarks by Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, accusing Tehran of lying and saying Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy, carried out the latest attack on Israel on Sunday morning without provocation.

In its statement, the ministry said Hezbollah “regularly bombs Israeli civilians” and has continued firing at Israelis even after the ceasefire. It also said Hezbollah launched an unjustified attack on Israel in March, acting under the direction of its Iranian leaders.

Ghalibaf had earlier said that “the Zionist invasion of the Dahieh proved once again that America lacks the will to fulfill its commitments or the ability to do so.” The exchange comes amid continued cross-border hostility and competing public accusations between Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah.
