By the end of 2025, Israel's 'Savings for Every Child' program managed over 3.6 million active savings accounts, with total deposits exceeding 25 billion shekels. Approximately 70% of these funds, around 17.7 billion shekels, were contributed by the National Insurance Institute, while parents added roughly 7.7 billion shekels by opting to double their monthly savings through child allowances. The cumulative profit reported from these savings accounts reached about 3.85 billion shekels.
In 2025 alone, deposits totaled approximately 3.56 billion shekels. The country saw 3,633,573 active accounts alongside around 335,000 inactive ones due to withdrawals or transfers. During the year, 122,300 accounts were fully redeemed, and 2,960 partially redeemed, totaling about 1.075 billion shekels. Among accounts with deposits in 2025, 63.2% of parents chose to increase their monthly contribution by 57 shekels, effectively doubling the savings amount.
Despite these figures, only about 60% of parents have actively selected an investment track since the program's inception, with a 54% selection rate in accounts whose choice period ended between July 2024 and June 2025. In 2025, savings accounts were opened for 363,909 children, with 94.8% established in provident funds. Additionally, around 433,000 grants were paid to children reaching ages 3, 18, and 21, totaling approximately 193.3 million shekels.
Zvika Cohen, Deputy CEO of the National Insurance Institute, emphasized that the program is primarily an investment in equal opportunity, aiming to provide children with a stronger economic starting point in adulthood. He urged parents to increase their involvement by making additional deposits and engaging more with savings plans for their second and subsequent children, noting that such involvement could significantly increase the financial resources available to children in the future.
