Four-year-old Shalom Sagner, grandson of Rabbi Shalom Arush, head of the 'Thread of Kindness' institutions, tragically drowned in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, where his family was staying. The boy was the son of Rabbi Asaf Sagner and his wife Rivka. Following the tragic news, the international unit of ZAKA, in close cooperation with the Israeli Foreign Ministry, worked diligently to facilitate the repatriation of the child's body to Israel for burial.

Thanks to the efforts of ZAKA volunteers and legal authorities in Mexico, the autopsy was avoided, and the body was released for burial. After completing all necessary bureaucratic and legal procedures, Shalom's coffin was flown on a private flight from Mexico to New York and then to Israel. It is expected to arrive at Ben Gurion Airport early Tuesday morning around 7:00 AM.

The funeral procession will begin on Tuesday at 11:30 AM from the 'Thread of Kindness' Yeshiva on Shmuel Hanavi Street 13 in Jerusalem, led by Rabbi Shalom Arush, rabbis, spiritual leaders, and thousands of followers. The procession will continue to the Mount of Olives for the burial. ZAKA's regional commander Yossi Landau emphasized their ongoing support for the family during this difficult time, while ZAKA's operations deputy director Chaim Weingarten highlighted the organization's efforts in multiple tragedies worldwide during the summer period.

May the child's soul be bound in the bond of life.
