Israeli Health Ministry Warns Against Dangerous 'Magic Honey' Containing Banned Drug Sibutramine

The Israeli Ministry of Health has issued a warning against purchasing or consuming "Magic Honey," also marketed as "weight loss honey," after tests revealed it contains sibutramine, a banned pharmaceutical substance. Sibutramine can cause severe side effects including increased blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, heart attacks, strokes, psychiatric disorders, and even death.

The ministry emphasized that using products containing sibutramine without medical supervision exposes consumers to unknown dosages and serious health risks. It also noted that there have been previous hospitalizations in Israel linked to counterfeit products containing this substance.

Authorities urged the public to buy medications, dietary supplements, and health products only from authorized sources such as pharmacies and recognized retail chains. They strongly advised against purchasing such products through social media, messaging groups, or unverified websites to avoid health hazards.
