The average salary in Israel increased by 6.7% from 14,263 shekels in May to 15,223 shekels in June, reflecting a seasonal rise after a 10.4% drop from the March peak of 15,937 shekels. This data comes from a rapid estimate of average wages for June. In the high-tech sector, average salaries rose by 2.5% from 34,870 shekels in April to 35,760 shekels in May. Despite a sharp 9.4% decline from the all-time high of 38,467 shekels in March, this represents a 13.7% increase compared to May 2025's 31,459 shekels, which is notable given the sector's reduced demand amid a recession. These figures were released by the Central Bureau of Statistics, with high-tech data specifically for May due to lack of rapid sectoral estimates.

Employment among Israeli salaried workers continued to recover from the war, rising by 1.1% from 4.168 million in May to 4.216 million in June, according to the rapid estimate for May. However, this remains below the 2025 average of 4.355 million salaried jobs and roughly equal to the 2023 average of 4.234 million, indicating the labor market has regressed approximately three years in terms of employee numbers.
