Jordan Valley Springs Offer Refreshing Weekend Nature Escapes Near Israel

The Jordan Valley has become a popular destination for travelers seeking natural springs, green spots, and unique agricultural experiences. In recent years, new water sources have been discovered through excavation work, turning the area into what is now called the "Land of Springs." Visitors can enjoy cool dips in clear water pools just minutes from their vehicles.

Among the recommended stops is Ein Sukkot, featuring a large upgraded reservoir pool about 60 by 30 meters, surrounded by dense reeds and equipped with wooden decks, shaded seating, and convenient parking. Adjacent to it is the original spring pool, smaller and shallower, known for its crystal-clear, cool water and tranquil natural setting.

Other notable springs include Ein Gal, named after fallen IDF soldier Gal Basson, which offers a 70-meter flowing stream feeding a 1.5-meter deep wading pool surrounded by shade trees and picnic areas. Ein Yarmukh is the deepest spring in the region, reaching about 4 meters, with a large pool inhabited by fish and accessible via a new wooden deck with benches and shade. Ein Arnon features a 2 to 2.5-meter deep pool with wooden decks, wide steps, a ladder, and a diving board, complemented by picnic tables and swings.

Additional attractions in the vicinity include agricultural farms such as Tselak Farm in Argaman, which connects visitors to local farming heritage and produce, and Eli Gilad Farm in Masua, offering family-friendly tours of date orchards, a petting zoo, and an exotic snake farm. Visits to these farms require prior arrangement.
