Hidden Jacuzzi Pool in Israel’s Beit She'an Valley Offers Quiet Summer Escape
During the busy summer vacation period when most natural pools in Israel's Beit She'an Valley are crowded, blogger Hen Yosef discovered a nearly empty, small shallow pool called Ein HaMesil, also known as Ein Tzemed. This spring-fed pool features a strong natural water flow from a large pipe, creating a powerful "divine jacuzzi" effect. Yosef arrived early in the morning to find the parking lot empty and enjoyed two peaceful hours alone in nature before a small group of visitors arrived.
Located near the famous White Waterfalls, Ein HaMesil is surrounded by eucalyptus trees and remains less crowded mainly due to a seven-minute dirt road approach, which deters many visitors, especially those unfamiliar with off-road driving. Yosef emphasized that no off-road vehicle is needed, and the walk from the car to the water is only about 30 seconds. The pool is shallow, with water reaching below the knees for adults, and the water temperature is comfortable, not cold.
Yosef noted that the pool’s small size means that a single large group or bringing bulky picnic furniture can disrupt the tranquil experience. She expressed frustration over visitors placing heavy picnic tables inside the water and urged people to leave furniture at home to preserve the swimming area. For those who find Ein HaMesil crowded, she recommended continuing along the dirt road to Ein Avuka, a deeper spring better suited for camping and older visitors.
Additionally, Yosef shared a tip for beachgoers seeking a unique coastal experience, recommending the Dor Beach lagoons, known for their shallow turquoise pools among rocks. She provided directions and practical advice for visiting both natural sites.
Visitors should note that swimming at Ein HaMesil is unsupervised and at their own risk. Directions include taking Highway 71 toward Beit She'an, turning south onto Road 7076, then right onto a dirt road near Kibbutz Ein HaNatziv, with parking adjacent to the site.
