Israeli Stabbed at Hungary's Ozora Festival; Two Israelis Arrested for Drug Sales

An Israeli man in his 30s was stabbed early Tuesday morning at the Ozora music festival in Hungary. Local police arrested three suspects connected to the assault, and the Israeli victim's condition stabilized after hospitalization. Following the stabbing, authorities increased security measures at the festival, conducting enhanced checks alongside event organizers to ensure attendee safety.

This stabbing is not an isolated incident involving Israelis at the festival. Last year, a 26-year-old Israeli was injured in a stabbing attack by another Israeli during the festival's final day. Separately, on the preceding Monday, Hungarian police arrested three individuals at the festival, including two Israelis, on suspicion of attempting to sell drugs to an undercover officer. One of the arrested Israelis is a survivor of the Nova festival held on October 7 and is believed to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Attorney Mordechai Zivin, who specializes in assisting Israelis detained abroad, commented that the current Hungarian authorities are expected to handle the cases fairly and independently, unlike during the previous government under Viktor Orbán. He expressed hope that detainees' rights would be respected in line with European Union standards.
