Givati Brigade Commander Condemns Soldier Protest as Unacceptable in IDF

Brigade Commander Colonel Natanel Shamka of the Givati Brigade issued a letter to his troops following a protest by dozens of soldiers from the Sabra Battalion who abandoned their base. The protest was sparked by the battalion commander breaking the soldiers' signs. Shamka emphasized that values are tested not only in combat but also daily during routine times and moments without active fighting. He described the disciplinary incident in the Sabra Battalion as serious and stated it has no place in the IDF or the Givati Brigade specifically. Shamka underscored that the IDF does not tolerate breaches of discipline, command authority, or the fundamental norms that uphold the fighting force.
