Reserve Colonel Hazi Nechama Engages in Political Talks with Gilad Erdan

Reserve Colonel Hazi Nechama, former commander of the Alexandroni and Menashe Brigades, confirmed on Thursday that he is considering entering politics. In an interview on the 103fm program "Sheva Tisha" with Anat Davidov and Nissim Mashal, Nechama revealed that he is in discussions with Gilad Erdan. "Gilad Erdan and I are holding talks, and if the conditions mature, I would be happy to join him," he stated, confirming ongoing negotiations but emphasizing that his joining depends on finalizing terms.

Nechama, associated with the "Forum of Reserve Commanders and Fighters," also addressed the recent proposal to deploy a multinational force in the Gaza Strip. He expressed clear opposition to the move, arguing that it signals a new phase to Hamas and would restrict the Israel Defense Forces' operational freedom due to the presence of foreign troops. He suggested an alternative pilot deployment on the Israeli side of the "yellow line," where Israel maintains control, to better manage such an initiative.

The interview also touched on political polling trends, noting a decline in Benny Gantz's appeal and strengthening support for Benjamin Netanyahu, though Nechama focused primarily on his potential political role and security concerns regarding Gaza.
