The story · English

Nehama Orbach, a community leader and educator, emphasizes the importance of active contribution to Israel, particularly in strengthening Jewish settlements in the Galilee region. In an interview with Dr. Hannah Katan on Channel 7, Orbach shared her personal journey from Jerusalem to making Beit She'an her home, fulfilling a long-held dream to raise her family there and engage deeply with the community. She founded and led the "Neta" seminary, which became a central part of her life, and continues to teach there even after passing on its management.

Currently, Orbach serves as the director of the religious Zionist community and Torah nucleus in Nof HaGalil, a city established to bolster Jewish presence in the Galilee. She highlights the increasing complexity of the region's reality but notes a rare partnership among diverse communities including religious Zionists, Haredim, and Chabad, united by a shared commitment to strengthen the area. "Kol Yisrael Achim" (All Israel are brothers) encapsulates this cooperation.

Orbach also spoke poignantly about her personal losses in the ongoing war, including her nephew Tzvika Kaplan and her husband Eitan, who volunteered for security service and was killed. She credits faith with providing strength through these hardships and stresses that the war has underscored the critical need for national resilience, mutual responsibility, and active participation in settlement efforts.

Concluding her message, Orbach calls on every Israeli to find their place in contributing to the nation’s future, whether by moving to the Galilee or enhancing their local communities. She warns that without a strong Galilee, the Negev’s future is also at risk. She envisions a thriving Jewish majority in the Galilee, celebrating together as part of a legacy of sacrifice and growth.
