Granot, head of the Orot Shaul Hesder Yeshiva in Tel Aviv and father of fallen soldier Captain Amitai Tzvi Granot, advocates for creating a common language and shared values across Israel’s diverse religious and political communities. He stresses that despite differences, Israelis share deep cultural and spiritual roots, including the Bible, Talmud, and Zionist heritage, which can serve as a foundation for cooperation. He calls on politicians and citizens alike to shift from blame to responsibility, urging leaders to demonstrate cross-sector collaboration and warning that those who promote division should not be empowered.
Reflecting on recent national tragedies like the October 7 attacks, Granot notes that crises have historically united Israelis, but as memories fade, political rifts deepen. Granot also shares a personal message of resilience inspired by his late son Amitai, who was killed by Hezbollah fire in October 2023.
