Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described his seventh meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington as the best conversation they have had, despite it being one of their shortest. The meeting took place shortly before a memorial service for Senator Lindsey Graham, who Netanyahu praised as Israel's top friend, with Trump jokingly calling himself Israel's number one friend and Graham number two. Netanyahu emphasized the shared goal of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and highlighted the full support and coordination between the two countries' teams.

The closed-door meeting, which lasted about an hour and 20 minutes, included senior officials such as Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe. Israeli National Information Directorate head Tzippi Hotovely said the discussion focused mainly on Iran and briefly touched on expanding the Abraham Accords, with no mention of military actions or demands for Israeli withdrawals from Lebanon, Syria, or Gaza. Hotovely also confirmed that neither the Mount Dookhoo site in Iran nor the potential transfer of F-35 stealth jets to Turkey were discussed.

Ahead of the meeting, Trump downplayed the significance of the Mount Dookhoo site, sarcastically telling Netanyahu he did not need to inform him about it, asserting that U.S. intelligence already had full awareness. Iranian officials stated they had not requested negotiations with the U.S. recently, while an American source accused Iran of exaggerating demands regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Netanyahu and Trump’s meeting was described by White House spokeswoman Caroline Lewitt as positive and productive, underscoring the strong U.S.-Israel partnership.

Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Herzog called the meeting a model of high-level cooperation benefiting both nations and the world. Netanyahu’s visit to the White House reaffirmed the close strategic alignment between Israel and the United States on regional security and Iran’s nuclear threat.
