A 17-year-old niece of Israeli Arab politician Ahmad Tibi was injured in a truck accident on Monday near the Sha'ar HaGai interchange on Route 1. The truck overturned at a gas station, colliding with four other vehicles. Emergency medical teams treated and evacuated the teenager and another person with minor injuries to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem; the niece's condition was reported as moderate.

The accident caused significant traffic congestion due to the central location of the interchange. Jerusalem District Fire and Rescue spokespersons said four firefighting and rescue teams from the Beit Shemesh area responded to the scene to extricate a trapped individual. The gas station remained closed until the truck and damaged vehicles were cleared.
