Rabbi Shteinman Urges Support for 73 Orphan Couples Marrying During Bein Hazmanim

Seventy-three orphaned couples in Israel are preparing to marry during the month of Av, a time known as Bein Hazmanim, but face severe financial hardship. Despite the joy of finally establishing their own homes after years of loss and loneliness, these young couples lack the means to cover essential wedding expenses such as the venue, bridal gown, and household items. Rabbi Shraga Shteinman, head of the yeshiva, has issued a rare and heartfelt appeal to the public to contribute a symbolic donation of just 10 shekels per orphan to help cover these costs.

Rabbi Shteinman emphasized the great mitzvah of bringing joy to these orphans by supporting their weddings with dignity. He assured donors that the "father of orphans" will bless all contributors with success and protection, especially during Bein Hazmanim, granting spiritual and physical safeguarding for the couples and their families. He also expressed hope that their descendants will grow in Torah study, health, and livelihood.

The call to action comes through the Vaad Harabanim, which has taken responsibility for assisting the couples. The rabbi's message highlights the emotional pain behind the celebrations, as the orphans deeply miss their parents on this significant life occasion. The community is urged to respond promptly to alleviate the orphans’ distress and enable them to celebrate their weddings with honor and joy.
