Israeli Farm-to-Table Initiative Hosts Unique Tu B'Av Vineyard Music Festival
On Tuesday, July 28, an extraordinary Tu B'Av celebration will take place at the Anava Vineyard near Beit Guvrin, featuring a fusion of Israeli wines, live music, and cultural heritage. The event is organized by Deli Alhambra in Jaffa, the official venue of the 'Farm to Table' initiative, founded by partners Yakir and Aviel to support local farmers, boutique wineries, and producers across Israel.
The festival offers a sensory journey with 14 musicians performing a blend of Hasidic melodies, Moroccan rhythms, Afghan sounds, and beloved Israeli songs. The event is inspired by Yakir’s experience during extended reserve duty in Lebanon, where he sought solace and connection to the land through music and local cuisine. He revived the ancient tradition of Tu B'Av in the vineyards, symbolizing unity and celebration.
Guests will enjoy organic and biodynamic wines from Karmi Elul Winery, with unlimited wine wristbands available alongside three hours of live music starting at 8 p.m., followed by a DJ set. Yakir describes the project as a "mega thoughtful initiative" that combines the intensity of military service with cultural and agricultural roots.
Beyond this event, Deli Alhambra serves as a hub for agricultural tourism and community engagement, offering cooking workshops with ingredients from 150 local producers and supporting agricultural councils and farms nationwide. The initiative aims to deepen the connection between Israelis and their land, embodying the spirit of the new Zionism. The brand is currently evolving into "The Good Earth," emphasizing storytelling about the producers behind the food.
Tickets cost 190 shekels per person, with wine wristbands at 90 shekels. The event promises a unique blend of music, wine, and tradition under the full moon of Tu B'Av, fostering connections and celebrating Israeli culture in the heart of the vineyards.
