The story · English

Itzik Kososbaki-Shachor, head of communities and the Rosh HaKahal center in the Achvat Torah movement, emphasizes the value of choosing modesty and inner peace over outward displays of success. He argues that refraining from showcasing achievements is not a sacrifice of quality of life but a conscious decision to foster mental tranquility and mutual responsibility within the community.

Kososbaki-Shachor explains that while personal well-being is a natural human desire, Jewish belief holds that success and livelihood are ultimately determined by divine providence. Human effort and talent are tools, but not the decisive factors in outcomes. This perspective encourages humility when enjoying the fruits of labor and awareness of one's role within the collective.

He introduces the concept of the "golden path," a balanced approach that values moderation as a sign of maturity and respect for communal harmony. By adopting standards of sanity and modesty, pressure to compete and prove oneself diminishes, allowing confidence to grow from internal substance rather than external validation.

This approach also benefits families by teaching children that happiness does not depend on displaying wealth or success but on living with satisfaction and security. It promotes a lifestyle grounded in depth and stability, ensuring a community strengthened by giving and conscious life choices rather than by ostentation.
