Israeli Youth and Celebrities Unite to Combat School Bullying and Violence

A new initiative titled "Taking Off the Gloves" is launching in Tel Aviv on July 27 to address the rising epidemic of bullying and violence among Israeli youth. Organized in collaboration with Mizrahi Tefahot Bank, ynet, and R.G.E, the event aims to raise awareness and develop strategies to eradicate youth violence. Ahead of the event, a documentary series featured meetings between teenagers who have personally experienced bullying and prominent Israeli influencers who have overcome similar challenges.

Actor Shlomi Yifrah, known from "The Amazing Race," met with three young activists who have taken their personal pain to advocate for systemic change, including bringing their cause to the Israeli Child Rights Committee. Yifrah shared his own experiences with school bullying and emphasized that victims are not to blame. Other influencers like Ninja Israel star Shnior Sameach and footballer Tom Shalev also engaged with youth, discussing how sports and peer support can dismantle bullying in schools.

The series also highlighted the story of "Ophir's Squad," a group founded after a viral video by a girl named Ophir who endured six years of bullying. The squad continues to support bullied children nationwide. Social media star Shir Turn, who faces online bullying herself, encouraged youth to recognize their self-worth and resist bullies. The initiative stresses that personal scars from bullying can become catalysts for change.

The upcoming event at Tel Aviv Port will bring together these voices to demonstrate that combating bullying requires more than awareness, it demands active intervention. The campaign underscores the importance of early recognition and response to prevent further tragedies, with youth and celebrities alike refusing to let bullying define their stories.
