Trump Warns Russia and China Against Supplying Weapons to Iran

On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a warning to Russia and China via a post on the social media platform Truth, stating that supplying weapons to Iran would be very detrimental to their interests. Trump emphasized that despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin remains intact, as does his relationship with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Trump, Putin assured him that Russia would not sell weapons to Iran, partly because Russia understands that the U.S. does not sell weapons to Ukraine. Trump also noted that while he sells weapons to NATO countries who pay full price, he is unaware of how those weapons are subsequently distributed.

Regarding China, Trump claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping told him during their last meeting in Beijing that China would under no circumstances sell or provide weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran, a commitment that also applies to Chinese companies. Trump expressed his belief in Xi's promise, citing their bilateral relations and mentioning that he has done significant favors for Xi.

Separately, a Trump advisor told Walla News that the issue of a potential meeting between Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Mohammed bin Zayed did not come up in their conversation. The advisor stressed that the historical framework must be given a chance.
