Rabbi Eliyahu Demands Harsh Measures Against Terrorists After Shooting Near Givat Gilad

Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu condemned the recent shooting attack near Givat Gilad that resulted in the murder of Binyahu Malat, a 32-year-old resident and security team member of the settlement. Malat was killed while assisting a group of hikers attacked by terrorists. Rabbi Eliyahu recalled meeting Malat on Tisha B'Av night and praised his bravery, noting his efforts to rescue children during a previous fire at the settlement. The rabbi called for severe retaliation against the terrorists and their families, stating, "We must open the gates of hell on that murderous village." He also urged the enforcement of existing laws to deport terrorists and their families, criticizing the judicial system for preventing the law's implementation and accusing those obstructing it of having "blood on their hands." Malat is survived by his wife Esther and two daughters. Authorities and community leaders continue to call for restraint and adherence to legal processes despite the emotional response to the attack.
